Broadband Connectivity Track
As suggested in the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education , the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP) Requires organizations that receive broadband grants to ensure that their personnel, including the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) or equivalent, are appropriately trained in cybersecurity, commensurate with their responsibilities.
What does this mean for you?
This program aims to assist state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) governments in managing and reducing systemic cyber risks. Part of this is emphasizing the need to ensure that organization personnel are appropriately trained in cybersecurity. While specific educational qualifications are not mandated, most CISOs typically possess a combination of education, certifications, and relevant work experience, and engage in continuous learning to stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and threats. What this all really means is that organizations receiving broadband grants are expected to have a well-trained CISO or equivalent to effectively manage their cybersecurity initiatives.
